Brazil Chicken Exports Hit New Record In January

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Brazilian chicken meat exports totaled 443,000 metric tons in January, up 9.4% from the same period last year, setting a monthly record, according to data released Monday (10) by chicken lobby ABPA . Revenue reached USD 826.4 million, a 20.9% increase over January 2024.

China was the top buyer of Brazilian chicken meat in January, importing 44,300 metric tons, up 15% from January last year. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates at 38,900 metric tons, remaining stable year-over-year, and Saudi Arabia, which saw a 9% decline to 31,800 metric tons in the month. Japan, South Africa, the European Union, the Philippines, South Korea, Iraq, and Singapore complete the list of key destinations for Brazilian fresh and processed chicken meat.

In a statement, ABPA President Ricardo Santin highlighted the“significant” flow to Asian markets such as China and the Philippines. He also expressed expectations for increased sales to other markets in the coming months, particularly Mexico, due to the renewal of a food security program that has already positively impacted Brazilian product purchases.
