Trump states his commitment to "buying", owning Gaza


(MENAFN) On Monday, U.S. President Donald trump stated his commitment to "buying" and owning Gaza, suggesting that parts of it might be given to other Middle Eastern countries for development. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump remarked that some Middle Eastern nations would take in Palestinians, adding, "I’m going to take care of the Palestinians and make sure they’re not killed."

Trump also addressed the situation of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, acknowledging that the U.S. could "lose patience" with the slow release of detainees. He confirmed plans to meet with Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, though he did not specify a date for these meetings.

Additionally, Trump mentioned that the U.S. would consider granting asylum to individual Palestinian refugees. Regarding Russia, he expressed confidence in the progress of U.S.-Russia discussions about the ongoing war in Ukraine, though he refrained from sharing details of his recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that more talks were anticipated.
