Qatar Attends Meeting Of Higher Arab Standardisation Committee

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 60th meeting of the Higher Arab Standardisation Committee, affiliated with the Arab League's Arab Industrial Development, Standardisation and mining Organisation (AIDSMO), which was held today in Rabat, Morocco.

During the meeting, the State of Qatar was represented by Chairperson of the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QGOSM) H E Eng Mohammed bin Saud Mohammed Al Musallam, who is also the member representing the State of Qatar in the organization's standards and metrology centre.

The meeting addressed several topics, including following up on the implementation of the recommendations of previous meetings of the Higher Arab Standardization Committee, following up on the reports of the general committee for Arab standards, the Arab committee for conformity assessment, and the permanent committee for Arab building codes.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the development of electronic forums for Arab standards, and followed up on the implementation of the Arab Halal Programme.

The meeting's agenda included reviewing the outcomes of the follow-up committee for the implementation of the Arab strategy for standardization and quality 2024-2028 with its various axes and its executive plan, in addition to discussing the practical steps to coordinate the Arab position in regional and international meetings and forums, with the aim of enhancing the Arab presence and effective participation in organizations and blocs working in the fields of standardisation, metrology and quality.
