U.S. Approves USD 7.41 Billion Arms Sale to Israel Amid Ongoing Conflict

(MENAFN) The U.S. State Department has authorized a substantial arms deal with Israel, valued at USD 7.41 billion, according to a Pentagon announcement made on Friday. This approval includes a package worth USD 6.75 billion for various munitions, guidance systems, fuzes, and munitions support, along with associated equipment. Additionally, a separate agreement for the sale of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and related items has been granted, totaling an estimated USD 660 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency formally notified congress about the potential deals on the same day. The statement emphasized, "The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability."

The announcement came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting Washington, D.C., where he held talks with President Donald Trump regarding the ongoing situation in Gaza and the broader state of bilateral relations.
