Amman, Feb. 7 (Petra)-- Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Safadi wrapped up a formal visit to the United Arab Emirates, at the invitation of Speaker Saqr Ghobash of the UAE federal National Council.
Safadi met with His Highness sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, during the three-day visit.
In front of UAE-Jordan Brotherhood Committee members, Safadi also met with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council.
The depth of the historical ties between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was emphasized by Safadi throughout the meetings.
Safadi commended the UAE's support for Jordanian positions in a number of areas, particularly the country's strong position on the Palestinian issue, the brothers' right to form an independent state on their own territory, and the emphasis on rejecting any solutions that would harm Jordan.
Safadi emphasized during the discussions the need of boosting mutual investments between the two sister nations and the need for greater coordination and collaboration between them in a number of areas, particularly the economy.
Safadi emphasized that Jordan has a secure investment environment that can be applied to more varied projects and expressed gratitude for the UAE's financial assistance to the Kingdom and the projects it has carried out there, particularly the railway project and the Marsa Zayed project in the Aqaba Governorate.
