30Th Al-Qurain Cultural Festival Launches Exhibition With 10 Prizewinners

KUWAIT, Feb 6 (KUNA) - Kuwait's 30th Al-Qurain Cultural Festival on Thursday launched their exhibition with more than 53 artists taking part.
During the ceremonial opening of the exhibition, Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector at the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters Musaed Al-Zamil at the Museum of Modern Arts said that the exhibition is one of the most important events in this festival as it stand as a hub for schools and artists to meet.
"This year we celebrate the, Kuwait is the capital of Arab Culture and media 2025, which is encompassed with literary, artistic, cultural, musical, and theatrical events inside and outside the State of Kuwait," he said, announcing the spring collections will also be part of the event as requested by our artists.
In a statement to KUNA, Superintendent of galleries in the Theater Administration and Fine Arts, Wael Al-Jaber said the Arts Department of the National Council is keen on partaking in the activities of this festival's comprehensive Youth events, considering it one of the most important in Kuwait.
He also mentioned Issa Saqr prize of creativity for the best works presented, to say, "It means a lot to us and the artists, as it bears the name of the late Kuwaiti artist who had a clear imprint in fine arts and was known as "Sheikh of Sculptors."
Adding, the team judging the prizewinners involves Amira Ashkanani, Nawaf Al-Armeli, Ali Darwish, Issa Al-Alban and Dr. Walid Sarab.
The exhibition coordinator Sarah Khalaf said the Al-Qurain Festival is a prominent event for our fine arts arena, as it highlights multiple aspects of the field and reflects the spirit of artistic creativity in the country.
All participants of all ages gather every year at this event, she added, giving us an opportunity to appreciate the different styles and routes of fine art available in Kuwait observed as a panorama for those seeking such fine arts.
She also mentioned at the end of the opening ceremony the prize winners of the Issa Saqr prize were announced; Ahmad Al-Husseini, Fatima Al-Fadhli, Saad Al-Balushi, Abdul-Rahman Al-Hamli, Ahmad Al-Ayoub, Abdullah Al-Jiran, Israa Kalender, Dr. Fatima Al-Azmi, Dalal Al-Shatti, and Abdul-Rida Baqir.
