TRC Hosts Inaugural Meeting To Coordinate Arab Efforts For Int'l Telecommunication Summit


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), in cooperation with the International telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Arab League, on Thursday hosted the inaugural meeting of the Arab team tasked with preparing for the upcoming World Telecommunication Development conference and the meetings of ITU-T Study Group 3.

The event addressed a wide range of technical and regulatory issues that are central to the industry, providing a platform to explore challenges and opportunities within the sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

TRC Chairman Bassam Sarhan highlighted the significance of these discussions, noting that the meetings offer a unique opportunity for Arab countries to exchange expertise, develop policies and foster growth in the telecommunications sector regionally and internationally.

The meeting aimed to coordinate joint Arab efforts in preparation for the 2025 World Telecommunication Development Conference.

Participants reviewed priorities, documents, and proposals reflecting the interests of Arab nations to ensure regional alignment and establish unified positions on key issues to be addressed at the global conference.

Discussions focused on strategies to strengthen Arab representation and coordination regarding nominations for the team's leadership.
