France Rejects Any Forced Displacement Of Gazans

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- France affirmed Wednesday its firm position against any forced displacement of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, which would constitute a serious violation of international law.
In a statement, The French Foreign Ministry said that any forced displacement of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip also constitutes an attack on the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinians, as well as a major obstacle to the two-state solution and a major destabilizing factor for our close partners Egypt and Jordan, as well as for the entire region.
France affirmed its continued work to implement the two-state solution, stressing that it is the only solution that can guarantee "peace and security" in the long term for Israelis and Palestinians.
"The future of Gaza should not be viewed from the perspective of third-party control, but rather within the framework of the future Palestinian state under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority," the statement added. (end)
