Qatar vows to aid in rebuilding southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, declared that Doha will assist in reconstructing southern Levanon after the destroying conflict that happened between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, pointing out the necessity of Israel’s exit from the region.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s backing for Lebanon’s efforts to rebuild in a press conference in the capital city of Lebanon, Beirut, following his meeting with Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese President.

He reached Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport for a visit lasts only one day, previously in the day.

While speaking at the press conference, he outlined his visit as an act of backing Lebanon, confirming that “Qatar will be actively involved in Lebanon’s reconstruction efforts.”

He congratulated Aounon on his election as a Leader and expressed optimism about the prompt formation of a new government to address the Lebanese people's ambitions.

The 9th of January marks the day when Lebanon’s parliament elected Aoun, who was supported by 99 legislator out of 128, after over two years of political deadlock.
