World Hindi Day Marked At Indian Embassy In Cairo


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Indian Embassy in Cairo celebrated World Hindi Day 2025 on 29 January. The event featured Hindi language competitions, cultural performances, and speeches highlighting the growing interest in Hindi among Egyptian students.

Cd'A Ms. C. Sushma emphasised the increasing role of Hindi in cultural and educational exchanges between India and Egypt. Prof. Ahmad Quadi delivered a speech in Hindi, underscoring the language's global significance and itscontribution to cross-cultural understanding.

The embassy organised competitions in handwriting, extempore Hindi speaking, poetry recitation, and essay writing. Egyptian students and members of the Indian diaspora participated, demonstrating the growing enthusiasm for Hindi in Egypt. Cd'A Ms. C. Sushma and Prof. Ahmad Quadi presented prizes and awards to the winners.

Cultural performances showcased the appreciation for Hindi among both Egyptian students and members of the Indian diaspora. Kariman, a young Egyptian girl, sang“Vande Mataram”. Kathak and Bollywood dance performances added to the festivities. Egyptian student Aasma Yassir recited her poem“चलो कुछ अच्छा करते हैं” (Chalo kuchh achchha karte hain), Christina sang“तेरी मिट्टी” (Teri Mitti), and Ankish recited the poem“माँ की व्यथा” (Maa ki vyatha).

The World Hindi Day event highlighted the growing popularity of Hindi in Egypt and fostered cultural connections and linguistic appreciation. The celebration saw active participation from students, language enthusiasts, and dignitaries.
