Video: Narcotic Pills Hidden In Food Pot Thwarted By Qatar Customs At HIA

Doha, Qatar: Airport authorities apprehend a passenger attempting to smuggle banned substances into Qatar.

The smuggling attempt, which was thwarted at Hamad International Airport, involved a passenger arriving in the country carrying banned Lyrica pills. The narcotic substances were hidden within the cavities of a food container.

In a video shared on social media, Qatar customs officials were seen emptying the food pot containing fresh food and discovered the pills wrapped in foil.

A total of 2,100 Lyrica pills were seized from the passenger.

The inspection utilizing specialized equipment was done upon a customs inspector's suspicion of a bag belonging to one of the arriving passengers.
