
Dubai Chamber Of Digital Economy’S Strategic Initiatives Propel 1,210 Digital Startups In 2024
The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has announced a significant milestone, supporting the establishment and expansion of 1,210 digital startups in Dubai throughout 2024. This achievement marks a 120% increase from the previous year, underscoring Dubai's growing appeal as a hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
In addition to fostering startup growth, the chamber has made substantial strides in enhancing local talent. Through the 'Create Apps in Dubai' initiative, 1,333 Emiratis received training in mobile application development, reflecting a 170% increase from the prior year. This program aims to triple the number of app developers in Dubai by 2025 and supports the development of 100 new national projects for advanced mobile applications.
H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, emphasized the chamber's commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to bolster Dubai's position as a global digital economy leader. He highlighted the importance of enhancing the infrastructure and regulatory framework to support companies specializing in future technologies, thereby elevating Dubai's competitiveness.
The chamber's efforts extended to international outreach, organizing 20 global roadshows to promote Dubai's digital landscape and the Expand North Star event. These initiatives attracted over 1,800 startups and more than 1,200 investors from 100 countries, managing assets exceeding US$1 trillion. The exhibition also featured 65 unicorn companies with a combined market value surpassing US$400 billion.
