President Ilham Aliyev Approves Amendments To Law“On Motor Roads”

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved the law "On amendments to the law on motor roads", Trend reports.

The updated law includes the following new concepts:

- toll station – this refers to structures and facilities intended for placing engineering equipment and technical devices, where payment operations for the passage of vehicles on toll highways take place, and consisting of checkpoints;

- checkpoint – this is a point established to control the entry and exit of vehicles on toll highways, equipped with special technical means and devices for photo or video registration, installed on transition lanes.

Additionally, according to the new law, users of the roads will now be held responsible for using bypass routes (areas) without passing through toll collection points, as well as for entering (exiting) toll highways without the right to use the service lanes for free passage. The law also imposes penalties for obstructing the normal operation of checkpoints, including blocking vehicle passage at checkpoints, and for unauthorized removal of barriers for passage (opening of the gate).
