Clean UAE Campaign Highlights In Ras Al Khaimah


(MENAFN- Mid-East Info) The 23rd session of the Clean UAE campaign, organised by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Enviroment and in collaboration with the Public Services Department – government of Ras Al Khaimah, arrived in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday, December 12 in its 6th stop. This event followed the successful efforts of thousands of volunteers who joined in the earlier stops in Ajman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah.




In Ras Al Khaimah, the chosen area was at the beautiful Al Mazrae area a prestine touristic area very popular with visitors especially during the cooler months of the year. The campaign recorded the presence of 678 volunteers who were all adorning beautifully designed cotton T-shirts and Caps, equipped with cotton gloves, biodegradable garbage bags. Their efforts resulted in the collection of 1 , 005 kilograms of waste covering an area of 4km, with a good portion of it segregated for recycling.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Habiba Al Mar'ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG, welcomed all the participants and the special guest H.H. Sheikh Salim Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi – Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation and Member of the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah. She emphasised the campaign's mission:”The Clean UAE campaign is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of pollution and its impacts on both the environment and human health. Through this platform, we aim to actively engage the community, inspire participation in impactful volunteering activities and instill the sense of environmental responsibility amongst the masses.”

She continued:“Over the years, the Emirates Environmental Group has demonstrated leadership in environmental advocacy, education, and awareness programmes across the UAE. This year, we are delighted to see active participation from diverse sectors, including public and private sector organisations, academic institutions, students and families. Our goal is to unite people from all nationalities and walks of life on a shared platform to collectively tackle sustainability challenges on a broader scale.”

Mrs. Al Mar'ashi highlighted the campaign's legacy, stating:“We are proud to sustain this multi-stakeholder, community-driven platform for 23 years, showcasing the power of collective action in creating meaningful environmental change. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to the principle of 'Think globally, act locally'. By aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Clean UAE campaign actively contributes to several of its key objectives”


H.E. Eng. Khaled Fadl Al Ali, Director General of the Public Services Department, expressed his pride in the collaborative efforts with the Emirates Environmental Group, stating:“We are delighted with the strong and productive partnership between the Public Services Department and the Emirates Environmental Group in their national campaign, Clean UAE, which spans across the entire country. This initiative reflects the vision and directives of Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates in achieving sustainable development.

The active participation of students, families, companies, and communities demonstrates the shared commitment to protecting our environment. Together, as volunteers, we unite across all sectors-families, businesses, academic institutions, and communities-transcending barriers of race, gender, nationality, and age. From business leaders and managers to employees, workers and officials, this campaign exemplifies the power of collaboration and collective action to drive meaningful change.
