WHO Deeply Concerned About Recent Attacks In Sudan's N. Darfour

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Director-General of the World health Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus on Thursday expressed deep concern about the recent attacks in the (Kabkabiya) North Darfur in Sudan, which left at least 80 people dead and hundreds injured.
In a post shared on his account on (X), Ghebreyesus noted that health facilities in Darfur barely meet health needs with non-functional equipment and limited medical supplies.
He reported that WHO managed to deliver trauma and surgery supplies earlier this month which can help to treat the injured and prevent further loss of life.
Since 15 April Sudan has been experiencing a devastating conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces leading to one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), nearly 14 million people have been displaced internally and across borders. (end)
