Clarion Communications Wins Cathay Pacific Retainer
(MENAFN- PRovoke)
LONDON - Premium airline Cathay Pacific has chosen Clarion Communications as its retained B2B and consumer PR and influencer marketing agency in the UK, after a competitive pitch.
The agency has been tasked with raising Cathay Pacific's brand awareness in the UK among business and leisure travellers. The account was previously held by MSL.
Clarion's managing partner and head of growth Lynn Louca told PRovoke media the team was currently in the planning process ahead of work starting next year:“Cathay Pacific were looking for an agency that could do consumer and B2B, and wanted to move away from aviation specialists so they could have more audience and consumer insights – which we can tap into as part of WPP – and a fresh approach to creativity. We jumped at the chance as we've always wanted to work with an airline.”
Cathay Pacific regional PR and social media manager Helen Gorrod said:“We were searching for a partner who could truly capture the essence of Cathay Pacific as a travel and lifestyle brand, reaching our target audience in fresh and engaging ways. Clarion impressed us with their deep understanding of consumer insights and their ability to translate those insights into truly creative, impactful campaigns. Beyond their impressive strategic thinking and ability to carry out both consumer and B2B communications including crisis management, we felt a genuine connection with the entire Clarion team – their passion and enthusiasm were contagious.”
The account will be led by managing partner Sue Roberts, who added: "Partnering with a legacy brand like Cathay Pacific, renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation, is an absolute honour for Clarion Communications. We're incredibly excited to bring our passion for creative storytelling and strategic brand building to this partnership, crafting 'high-flying' campaigns that capture the hearts and minds of travellers.”
Clarion's other recent wins include the Shard, Bread & Butter Wines, Danone, Evan Evans Tours and Hovis. Louca told PRovoke Media:“We've had a really great year – for a challenging year, we're on track to grow 10%. I'd put it down to a couple of things. We're seeing more companies coming to us because they want integration and everything under one roof, from consumer to crisis, which we do for around 40% of our clients.
“We're also good at growing long-standing clients like Aldi, Unilever, Wickes and JDE (Kenco), where we start working in trade PR and move into consumer. And being a team of 55 is a sweet spot: we're also not too big that clients get lost, and not too small that we can't handle everything.”
