NOC: daily oil output in Libya surpasses 1.4 million barrels

(MENAFN) Libya's daily oil production surpassed 1.4 million barrels on Tuesday, according to a statement from the state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC). This achievement represents the highest level of oil production in the country since 2013, marking a significant milestone for the industry.

The NOC's statement highlighted that crude oil and condensate production reached more than 1.4 million barrels, while gas output contributed an additional 200,000 barrels, bringing the total daily production to 1.6 million barrels. The corporation credited this achievement to the dedicated efforts of national workers, who have worked tirelessly to boost oil production and support the country’s economic stability.

Libya’s government has ambitious plans to further increase production. Prime Minister Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah announced that the country aims to raise its daily oil and gas production to 2 million barrels by the end of 2025. This target underscores Libya's commitment to enhancing its oil sector and stabilizing its economy.

The achievement of exceeding 1.4 million barrels per day reflects Libya's ongoing recovery along with efforts to rebuild its oil industry after years of political and economic challenges. The country's ability to increase production to this level signals positive momentum in its energy sector, vital for the nation's economic growth.
