Azerbaijan Tallies Turnover Through Next-Gen Cash Registers

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 9. Azerbaijan's turnover via innovative cash register technology surpassed 17.9 billion manat ($10.5 billion) from January to October 2024.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy shows this figure experienced an 11 percent year-over-year growth.

As of November 1, 2024, a whopping 102,205 new-generation cash registers have been rolled out in trade and service facilities across the nation.

“The implementation of advanced cash registers has enhanced payment transparency, mitigated illicit product circulation, and facilitated turnover oversight,” the service's statement reads.

To note, in 2023, the revenue generated by next generation cash registers nearly attained 22 billion manat ($12.94 billion), reflecting a 14.2 percent increase over the previous year.
