BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Allegations made
by Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of
France, during an interview with the France Inter, stating that
“Azerbaijan violates international law in relation to Armenia” are
yet another indication of this country's baseless and biased
attitude towards Azerbaijan, as well as its shallow and superficial
approach to international law.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aykhan Hajizada
said in an address to the anti-Azerbaijani views expressed by
Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of
France, Trend reports.
Hajizada asserted that international law and justice serve as
the foundation for all actions taken by Azerbaijan.
"It is absurd to claim that our country is acting against
international law, and France has no evidence to support her claim.
It is interesting that France, which presents itself as a promoter
of international law and a guarantee of justice, has never
criticized the gross violation of all norms and principles of
international law in relation to Azerbaijan.
It is an indication of an erroneous policy to present Armenia as
a victim, which displaced nearly a million Azerbaijanis from their
homeland, committed massacres and crimes against humanity, and
disregarded the right of return of hundreds of thousands of
Azerbaijanis who were deported en masse from the territory of
Armenia.
We once again demand that France, whose foreign policy has
failed in many parts of the world, cease its destructive activities
in our region," he said.
