(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Wednesday highlighted the importance of the recent contract between the ministry and UAE-based Presight, a leading company in digital transformation in various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and e-sports.

A ministry source said that this contract is part of a "generous" grant from the UAE, noting the "historic" cooperation and support that the UAE provides to Jordan through its advanced companies, a partnership that Jordan highly values, the Jordan news Agency, Petra, reported.

The source expressed pride in the cooperation between Jordan and the UAE, noting that it sets an example of Arab leadership in many fields.

Presight's role is limited to specific projects, where the company's involvement will end upon the completion of the project, after which local Jordanian entities will take over operations, the source added.

The source also noted that several global companies, such as Intel, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle, have partnerships and contracts with companies in different countries, which does not preclude cooperation with them, stressing that "advanced technology systems and industries include components from multiple countries".

Any contract signed with foreign companies undergoes a legal review to ensure compliance with Jordanian laws and regulations. This process includes obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities, including those responsible for cybersecurity, in accordance with Jordan's Data Protection Law, the source stressed.

He reiterated that all national data in Jordan is protected by strict information security protocols managed by experienced national institutions.
