Uzbekistan, WB Assess Progress On Tashkent-Andijan Toll Road Project


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 3. Uzbekistan and the World bank (WB) have discussed the advancement on the Tashkent-Andijan toll road construction project, along with the bank's support for its implementation, Trend reports.

Uzbekistan's Minister of transport Ilkhom Makhkamov and the WB Transport Policy Director in Europe and Central Asia, Shomik Raj Mehndiratta, as well as Infrastructure Program Manager and Lead Transport Specialist Wei Winnie Wang, discussed the topic in a meeting.

The parties also explored further support in the transport sector and opportunities for attracting private funding during the meeting.

Previously, Uzbekistan and the WB discussed the implementation of the Rural Infrastructure Development Projects - Phase 1 and Phase 2.

The parties addressed measures aimed at effective design and construction of project site facilities and noted significant progress.
