Kazakhstan Quashes Delay Rumors Of Kashagan Field Repairs
(MENAFN- Trend News Agency)
ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 6. Kazakhstan's
Ministry of energy has refuted claims about a delay in repairs at
the Kashagan oil field, Trend reports, citing a statement from the ministry's
press service.
"Reports suggesting that the Ministry of Energy requested
shareholders to postpone maintenance at the Kashagan field are
inaccurate. The delay was only one of several options considered
during internal discussions but was never adopted," the statement
read.
The ministry confirmed that repairs at the Kashagan field will
proceed as scheduled, starting October 3. This was affirmed during
recent calls with analytical agencies and during last week's visit
by the Secretary General of OPEC to Astana.
"Kazakhstan remains fully committed to OPEC+ measures and is
taking all necessary steps to adhere to its voluntary production
cuts and fulfill the Compensation Plan submitted to the OPEC
Secretariat," the ministry added.
