Azerbaijani Para-Taewondoists Return To Homeland


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4, The Azerbaijani national men's para-taewondo team, who successfully performed at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games, returned to their homeland, Trend reports.

The athletes, including two Paralympic medalists, were greeted by the sports community, family members and relatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the leadership of the National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan, as well as other members of the Delegation at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The Azerbaijani men's taekwondo team won 1 Gold and 1 bronze medal in the capital of France. Таким образом, сборная Azerbaijan took second place in the final ranking by the number of medals.

In Paris 2024, Imameddin Khalilov (K44, 70 kg) won gold, Sabir Zeynalov (K44, 58 kg) won bronze, Abulfaz Abuzarly (K44, 80 kg) reached the quarter-finals.

It should be noted that a total of 52 countries were represented at the parataekwondo competitions.
