SOCAR Joins Oil And Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP 2.0)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. The State Oil
Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has joined the Oil and gas Methane
Partnership (OGMP 2.0), Trend reports via the company.
"Joining this partnership allows SOCAR to adopt and implement
best practices in the global energy sector to protect the
environment. It also enables more detailed reporting on methane
emissions, adhering to international standards," stated the
company.
SOCAR said that participation in OGMP 2.0 aligns with the
company's long-term sustainable development strategy and
contributes to its global fight against climate change.
OGMP 2.0, established in 2014 under the UN Environment Program,
is an international platform dedicated to the comprehensive
measurement, reduction, and transparent reporting of methane
emissions in the oil and gas industry. Its goal is to gather
detailed information on methane emissions, promote emission
reduction measures, and ensure transparent reporting through the
application of best practices.
