219 Fatalities Caused By Pedestrian Accidents In 2023, PSD Announces

Amman, July 29 (Petra) -- The Public Security Department (PSD) spokesperson said that the number of pedestrian deaths reached 219 in 2023, accounting for 36.1 percent of the total deaths caused by traffic accidents.
He added that pedestrians crossing the street outside designated places (if available) is a dangerous behavior and violates traffic rules.
He urged citizens to abide by traffic rules and use the designated pedestrian crossing places in order to preserve their lives and safety.
