(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, July 29 (Petra) -- Several airlines announced the cancellation or postponement of flights to and from Beirut airport amid the recent escalation of tension.
According to AFP, Air France said on Monday that it will suspend flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Beirut on July 29 and 30, due to the security situation in the region, noting that it is "monitoring the situation in Lebanon moment by moment."
Germany's Lufthansa, Swiss International Airlines and Euro Wings, part of the group, announced the suspension of flights to and from Beirut until August 5 in light of the current developments in the Middle East, while the flight information display at Beirut airport and the FlightRadar24 flight tracking website showed that Turkish Airlines also canceled two flights last night.
Turkey-based low-cost carrier Sun Express Airlines, Turkish Airlines' subsidiary AJet, Greece's Aegean Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Middle East Airlines also canceled flights scheduled to arrive in Beirut on Monday, according to FlightRadar24.
