None Of Ships Reported By Ukraine To Have Been Destroyed Or Damaged Were Present At Parade In Russia - BBC

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) On Sunday, 28 July, Russian warships took part in a naval parade in honour of the Ukrainian Navy, but none of the ships reported by Ukraine to have been destroyed or damaged were present.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Russian service of the BBC .

Only two ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet were shown during the broadcast of the main naval parade in honour of the Navy Day.

They were the corvette Mercury, which has been performing tasks at the Russian military base in Tartus, Syria, since 2024, and the frigate Admiral Grigorovich.

It is noted that this year, for the first time, the broadcast combined parades in St. Petersburg (the traditional part of it in Kronstadt was cancelled this year), Baltic, Vladivostok, Severomorsk, Caspian Sea and at the Russian base in Tartus, Syria.

In St Petersburg, the parade was hosted by Russian leader Putin.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet was mentioned twice during the reports of the fleet commanders to the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.

At the same time, none of the ships that were damaged or destroyed in the Black Sea over the past year, including those provided by forces from other navies, were shown.

As reported by Ukrinform, a few days ago, the British Ministry of Defence said in its review that due to the inability to guarantee the safety of ships, the Russians cancelled the naval parade in Kronstadt.
