Death rate in Gaza reaches over 93,300 as Israel murders 66 additional Palestinians

(MENAFN) The Israeli army's recent attacks in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of 66 more Palestinians, bringing the total death toll to 39,324 since the conflict escalated on October 7 of the previous year, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza. In addition to the fatalities, the ministry's statement reported that approximately 90,830 people have been injured due to the ongoing assault. The ministry detailed that these latest casualties were the result of three "massacres" carried out by Israeli forces against families within the last 24 hours.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, with many people still trapped under rubble and on the roads, as rescuers struggle to reach them. The continued violence has led to international outrage, particularly as Israel has disregarded a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire. The relentless offensive, which began following an October 7, 2023 attack by Palestinian resistance group Hamas, has drawn widespread condemnation and highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The prolonged conflict has left Gaza in a state of devastation, with large areas reduced to ruins amid a crippling blockade that has severely restricted access to food, clean water, and medicine. The blockade and the sustained military operations have exacerbated the suffering of the civilian population, leading to a catastrophic humanitarian situation.

Israel now faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice. The court's latest ruling has ordered Israel to immediately halt its military operations in the southern city of Rafah. This area had become a refuge for over a million Palestinians fleeing the war before it was invaded on May 6. The international community continues to call for an end to the violence and for measures to address the humanitarian needs of the people in Gaza.
