First Turkey-Sudan Business Forum starts in Istanbul

(MENAFN) The First Turkey-Sudan Business Forum and Logistics-Economy-Investment expo began in Istanbul on Wednesday, bringing together officials and business leaders from both countries. The event marks a significant opportunity for strengthening trade and investment ties between Turkey and Sudan.
Sudanese Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Ehlam Mahdi Sabeel, expressed a strong desire for Turkish investors to engage with Sudan's market. She emphasized that Sudan is ready to welcome Turkish investment and highlighted that many Turkish companies are already operating in the country. "We welcome every investor from Turkey to contribute to the development of Sudan," Sabeel stated, underscoring the commitment to providing a supportive investment environment. She also noted the forum’s objective of addressing and overcoming obstacles in the trade and investment relations between the two nations.
Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Özgür Volkan Agar echoed the sentiment of strengthening bilateral relations through sectoral cooperation facilitated by the event. He highlighted the importance of participating in international fairs, trade delegations, and bilateral agreements to enhance commercial and economic ties. Agar noted Turkey's focus on the African continent, describing Sudan as a rising market with significant resources and a strategic position. "Sudan has become one of the rising markets of Africa with its rich resources and remarkable progress in social, economic, and political fields," he said.
Agar expressed Turkey's satisfaction with Sudan's ongoing transformation and reaffirmed the close relationship between the two countries. He described Sudan as a commercial and economic gateway to Africa for Turkey, reflecting the strong bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the nations.
