Ramallah, July 23 (Petra) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for Jordan's efforts in approving the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)'s unanimous decisions aimed to preserve and protect Palestinian sites registered on the List of World Heritage in Danger (LWHD).
In the organization's 46th session held in the Indian capital, New Delhi, UNESCO said sites include the Old City of Jerusalem and its walls, the Old City of Hebron, and the Palestine Land of Olives and Grapes site - the cultural landscape of agricultural terraces south of Jerusalem - Battir.
In a statement Tuesday, the ministry referred to Israel's attempts of Israel, the occupying power, to falsify history, destroy Palestinian heritage, culture and history, and replace facts on the ground with myths and false narratives, which will definitely fail.
The ministry urged UNESCO to expose the Israel's colonial plans and stop its government's false narratives aimed at "undermining the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to exist."
The ministry also called on implementing the UNESCO decision and sending a monitoring mission to track Israeli violations in Jerusalem.
