UAE, Mauritius sign historic economic partnership agreement


(MENAFN) On Monday, the UAE and Mauritius formalized a groundbreaking economic partnership agreement, marking the first such accord between the UAE and an African nation. The agreement was signed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius. This landmark deal aims to significantly impact both economies, with projections indicating an increase of 0.96 percent in the UAE's GDP and a 1 percent boost to Mauritius' GDP by 2030.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized that this historic agreement underscores the UAE's ongoing commitment to forging development partnerships that serve the interests of nations and peoples. He highlighted that the partnership with Mauritius represents a shared vision to enhance bilateral relations, drive economic growth, and generate more opportunities for both countries, thereby working together to build a brighter future and strengthen their ties.

Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth acknowledged the UAE's crucial role in facilitating global trade and investment, noting that the agreement will bolster international cooperation and contribute to regional stability.
