Two Injured in Reported Israeli Drone Strike in Lebanon
(MENAFN) Two people were reportedly wounded in a drone strike in southern Lebanon, with Lebanese media describing the incident as part of ongoing ceasefire violations, according to reports.
The strike allegedly hit a vehicle parked near the Harouf Municipality building, injuring a local municipal council member and a civilian. The individuals were reportedly preparing to distribute bread to residents at the time of the incident.
Lebanese state media said additional Israeli military activity was recorded in multiple areas, including airstrikes in al-Shihabiya in the Tyre region and Rihan Heights in Jezzine. Artillery fire was also reported in the Al-Arid neighborhood of Dibbin in the Marjayoun district, though casualty details were not immediately confirmed.
Earlier incidents reported on the same day included missile fire near al-Wahda University on the outskirts of Tyre and shelling of residential areas between Harouf and Doueir.
According to reports, these developments occurred despite a US-mediated ceasefire agreement announced on April 17 and later extended into early July.
Lebanese authorities have claimed that since early March, ongoing strikes have resulted in thousands of deaths, widespread injuries, and large-scale displacement affecting a significant portion of the population. However, independent verification of cumulative figures was not provided in the report.
