Process Of Reducing Methane Emissions Requires Involvement Of All Countries - Official


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, July 22. The process of reducing methane emissions requires the involvement of all countries, Azerbaijan's Deputy Energy Minister and Chief Executive Officer of COP29, Elnur Soltanov, said during a presentation on “Solidarity for a Green World - COP29” at the II Shusha Global Media Forum, Trend reports.

“There is no country in the world that can find a method to reduce carbon emissions without damaging its economy. All countries must join the process of reducing methane emissions. The amount of funding directed by nations towards adaptation must be increased.

We need high-level support. For instance, there will be a ministerial meeting in China. Also, a meeting will be organized in the Shamakhi district of Azerbaijan. Each of these events is aimed at support,” Soltanov said.

To note, the Second Shusha Global Media Forum is attended by 150 foreign guests from 49 countries, including news agencies from 34 countries, 12 international organizations and media entities, as well as 60 heads and representatives of Azerbaijani media.
