Microsoft Outage: Check-In Systems For Indigo, Akasa And Spicejet Airlines Down At Mumbai Airport


(MENAFN- Live Mint) Microsoft global outage: Mumbai airport's check-in systems for IndiGo, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet airlines are down, CNBC-TV 18 reported, quoting sources following the Microsoft global outage. The outage has impacted the airport's services since 10:45 a.m. today, Friday, July 19.

Akasa Air said that check-in and booking services will remain unavailable. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Airline stated, "Due to infrastructure issues with our service provider, some of our online services, including booking, check-in and manage booking services, will be temporarily unavailable."

It further said, "Currently we are following manual check-in and boarding processes at the airports and hence request passengers with immediate travel plans to reach the airport early to check-in at our counters. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and want to assure you that our teams are working with our service provider to resolve the same at the earliest.”

SpiceJet also said that the airline faced technical issues after the Microsoft global outage. In a post on X, the Airline said,“We're currently facing a technical issue in providing updates on flight disruptions. Our team is actively working to resolve this issue. We regret for any inconvenience caused and will update you once the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience and co-operation.”

IndiGo Airlines reported issues with its systems after the Microsoft global outage. In a post on X, the Airline said,“As our systems are impacted by an ongoing issue with Microsoft Azure, we are experiencing high volumes at contact centre. Please contact us only if your travel is within 24 hrs (SIC).”

Windows 10 users worldwide were impacted by massive outages owing to a new Crowdstrike update. PCs reportedly got stuck on the recovery screen, leading to a blue error code. Reports suggest that the latest IT outage on Windows has led to significant disruption to some Microsoft services. As many as 911 services were disrupted in several US states.
