Police Arrest 18 In Major Drug Bust Operations Across Jordan

Amman, July 8 (Petra) - The media spokesperson for the Public Security Department reported that in recent days, the Anti-Narcotics Department has conducted operations resulting in the arrest of 18 individuals involved in drug trafficking and smuggling across various regions of the Kingdom.
The spokesperson said that a joint security campaign in Mafraq Governorate and the Northern Badia Governorate targeted wanted persons and drug dealers, leading to the arrest of nine individuals, including those classified as dangerous. Seized items included narcotics and firearms.
In Mafraq Governorate, the Anti-Narcotics Department thwarted an attempt to smuggle 50,000 narcotic pills. Following intelligence about two individuals preparing a secret compartment in a vehicle for smuggling, authorities arrested the suspects and confiscated the vehicle containing the hidden pills.
In the Ramtha district, authorities acted on information regarding a drug dealer linked to regional smuggling gangs. After a thorough investigation, the suspect was arrested with 8 kg of crystal narcotics and 14,000 narcotic pills. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to locate accomplices. Additionally, in Ramtha, two individuals were arrested with half a kilogram of crystal narcotics.
In the south of the capital, a raid led to the arrest of two dangerous drug dealers, along with the seizure of narcotics and live ammunition.
In Karak Governorate, a drug trafficker was apprehended with 5,000 narcotic pills following a raid.
Another suspect in Madaba Governorate was found with 10 blocks of hashish and 3,000 narcotic pills.
