Amman International Film Festival Starts

Amman, July 3 (Petra) -- Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan Prince Ali bin Al Hussein Wednesday attended the opening ceremony of the fifth session of the "Amman International Film Festival - First Film" in Amman.
This year, the festival, dubbed "Tell Me," aims to promote Arab stories and novels, support the national narrative, and convey the voices of Arab filmmakers to the world.
The founder and president of the festival, Princess Rym Ali, said: "Despite the ongoing suffering and massacres in Palestine, Sudan and others, we are committed to holding the festival as a space to support cinema because art supports life."
Princess Rym added: "Let us tell our stories to the world. There is no time more important than this when we tell our true stories as we witness the distortion of stories."
At the opening ceremony, the short film "No" from the "Distance Zero" films and "Bye Bye Tiberias" directed by Lina Sweilem were screened.
During the festival, which continues until the eleventh of July, 50 films will be shown competing in the festival's categories: Arab feature films, short films, international films and documentaries.
