China welcomes 600 global professionals for skills competition

(MENAFN) Chongqing Municipality in southwest China has welcomed nearly 600 skilled professionals from 61 countries and regions for the second Belt and Road International Skills Competition. Scheduled from June 24 to 26, the event is jointly organized by China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Development and Reform Commission, the China International Development Cooperation Agency, and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government.

The competition serves as a significant platform for young talents to converge, exchange skills, and foster international collaboration in vocational education. It aligns with China's Belt and Road Initiative, aiming to deepen global partnerships and promote mutual development through skills enhancement and cultural exchange.

Themed "Skills cooperation for common development," the competition features 18 events encompassing diverse fields such as digital construction, logistics and freight forwarding, electronic technology, electrical installation, automotive technology (new energy), and internet marketing. Participants, with an average age of 22 years old, are predominantly under 30 years old, reflecting the youthful vigor and global diversity of the competition.

In addition to the competitive events, the program includes exhibitions, seminars, dialogues, and talent exchanges, enhancing opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing among participants. The inaugural competition took place in Chongqing in 2019, drawing contestants from 44 countries and regions, and this year's edition promises to build upon that foundation of international collaboration and skill excellence.
