New York, June 24 (Petra) -- World health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus on Monday called for sustained medical evacuation and timely passage through all possible routes for patients in the Gaza Strip, where more than 10,000 people require medical evacuations outside the Strip.
Among those who need to leave Gaza for specialized care are pediatric patients, the WHO said in a UN statement on Monday.
The WHO said that 5 of these patients, 4 of them with cancer and another with second-degree burns, were transferred from Al-Ahli Hospital to Nasser Medical Complex, noting that they continue to receive care until they are able to leave Gaza.
The WHO said its team and partners delivered medical supplies to cover the health needs of about 20,000 patients at Al-Ahli and Al-Sahaba hospitals, in addition to 19,000 liters of fuel.
