Work On Major Power Transmission Line Initiated

KABUL (Pajhwok): Work has been initiated on a major power transmission line project for overcoming power shortage in Kabul and 12 other provinces.
The Ministry of Energy and Water says the 500kV transmission line will stretch from Dasht-e-Khwaja Alwan in Pul-e-Khumri to Arghandi in Kabul.
With the implementation of the scheme, the ministry said, the ground would be paved for the import of over 1000 megawatts of additional electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
