Kuwait Plays A Scoreless Match Against India In World Cup Qualifications

NEW DELHI, June 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and India on Thursday played a scoreless match in the Asian finals for the FIFA World Cup qualifier at a stadium in western Bengal.
The encounter that ended 0-0 was played at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, as part of the fifth round of Group A.
Kuwait had lost in a previous match 0-1, but overcame Afghanistan 0-4. But the "blues" suffered defeats twice by the Qataris, thus ranking fourth in the group.
To ensure qualification, the "blues" need to beat Afghanistan. A win or draw by Qatar against India will also play into the Kuwaitis' hands. (end)
