IFC Appoints Ines Rocha As New Regional Director For Europe


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Ines Rocha has beenappointed as the new Regional Director of the International FinanceCorporation (IFC) for Europe, Trend reports via the IFC.

Based in Vienna, Rocha will play a pivotal role in promotingprivate sector investment and job creation in Central and EasternEurope. Her focus will include strengthening environmentallyfriendly growth processes, enhancing digital technologies, andimproving financial inclusion. Additionally, she will oversee IFC'scommercial development projects in Western Europe, mobilizingcapital and expertise to support sustainable economic growth inemerging markets.

Rocha brings over 20 years of experience in development financeto her new role, having most recently worked with the European Bankfor Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The IFC, part of the World Bank Group, is the largestinternational development institution dedicated to the privatesector in emerging markets. Operating in over 100 countries, theIFC leverages its capital, expertise, and influence to buildmarkets and create opportunities in developing regions. In thefiscal year 2023, the IFC committed a record $43.7 billion toprivate businesses and financial institutions in developingcountries, demonstrating the private sector's critical role inending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity amidmultiple global crises.
