(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The Ministry ofEconomy of Azerbaijan and UK Export Finance have discussed possibleareas of cooperation, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Deputy Economy MinisterSahib Mammadov met with Emma Thomas, co-chair of UK Export Financeof the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UKEF),on issues of global origin.
The meeting was informed about Azerbaijan's economy,opportunities created for investors, and the economic potential ofthe territories liberated from occupation. Mentioning the measurestaken in Azerbaijan in connection with COP29, the Deputy Ministeremphasized the importance of cooperation in this context.
Emma Thomas, in turn, briefed on the activities of theorganization she represents and noted the opportunities forpartnership with Azerbaijan in infrastructure, transport, greenenergy, high technology, the digital economy, and other areas.
The sides discussed possible directions for relations, includingthe possibility of using UKEF's financial instruments in Azerbaijanand issues of continuing contacts to establish partnership.
To note, UK Export Finance (UKEF) is a UK government ministerialdepartment and the nation's export credit agency (ECA). We helpexporters access working capital and manage the risk of not gettingpaid by offering a government guarantee. UKEF partners withprivate-sector finance providers to grow UK exports andinternational trade.
