Kazakh Delegation To Join Annual WB And IMF Spring Meetings


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 15. The Kazakhdelegation will take part in the annual Spring Meetings of theWorld bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington onApril 15-20, the spokesperson for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry AibekSmadiyarov said during the briefing, Trend reports.

"The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund will havetheir annual Spring Meetings in Washington (the United States) fromApril 15-20, 2024. A Kazakh delegation will attend the activities,led by Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the National Bank, and MadinaAbylkassymova, Chairman of the Agency for Regulation andDevelopment of the Financial Market," he said.

As Smadiyarov noted, the visit will include meetings of theKazakh delegation with the leadership of international financialinstitutions and rating agencies, as well as business circles andthe US expert community.

The Spring Meetings bring together central bankers, ministers offinance and development, parliamentarians, private sectorexecutives, representatives from civil society organizations, andacademics to discuss issues of global concern, including the worldeconomic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, andaid effectiveness.

Among other things, the Spring Meetings focus on the return ofindustrial policy, building tax capacity in developing countries,the presentation of the World Economic Outlook, the GlobalFinancial Stability Report, energy subsidy reforms, and theconsequences of geo-economic fragmentation on financial stabilityin open economies: the Central Bank's Perspectives from Europe andAsia.
