(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 2. The 61stmeeting of the country's Interdepartmental Commission on theCaspian Sea was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ofTurkmenistan, where its work plan was discussed in detail, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan,the meeting was attended by the relevant Deputy Chairmen of theCabinet of Ministers, heads of a number of ministries, and relevantdepartments of Turkmenistan.
Speaking at the meeting, the participants noted that under theclear leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, SerdarBerdimuhamedov, the country has consistently taken an initiativeposition to develop balanced solutions to the issues of the CaspianSea.
They stressed that Turkmenistan has played an important role inthe development of the legal framework for cooperation in theCaspian Sea, and this process continues in cooperation with allCaspian littoral countries within the framework of internationallaw.
Furthermore, the participants discussed in detail the actionplan of Turkmenistan's Interdepartmental Commission on the CaspianSea for 2024, affecting important areas such as economy, security,transport, and international events.
At the same time, in accordance with the country's environmentaldiplomacy, the participants paid special attention to environmentalissues.
In conclusion, the participants stressed that Turkmenistanintends to continue its active activities in order to strengthenrelations of friendship, good neighborliness, and broad interactionbetween the coastal states.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan strives for active cooperation with theCaspian littoral countries, realizing the importance ofinternational partnership for its economic and socialdevelopment.
Given its unique geographical location on the shores of theCaspian Sea, the country is actively looking for opportunities toexpand trade and economic ties, energy cooperation, and theexchange of experience in various fields, which contributes tostrengthening stability and prosperity in the region.
