(MENAFN- Live Mint) "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil several railway initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir, including the inauguration of a new rail route spanning from Banihal to Khari to Sumber to Sangaldan, covering a distance of 48 km.
As reported by ANI, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the newly electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangaldan section, stretching over 185.66 km of the ambitious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail LINK project Read: PM Modi in Jammu Live UpdatesThe Prime Minister will also launch the first electric train in the valley and commence train services between Sangaldan and Baramulla stations per railway authorities, the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section, built at a cost of ₹15,863 crore, is fully prepared for operation.
