Iraqi, Spanish Fms Discuss War On Gaza, Economic Coop.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussain met on Thursday with his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel to discuss the war on Gaza and economic cooperation between the two countries.
In a joint press conference, the Iraqi Minister said that the war on Gaza was the main subject in the meeting, noting that he valued Spain's support to end the war and allow the entrance of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.
He pointed out that both sides discussed economic ties between Baghdad and Madrid, ways to enhance those ties, and the role of the Spanish companies in rebuilding Iraq, as he noted that the joint economic committee between the two countries will soon hold a meeting in Iraq to reinforce cooperation.
On his part, the Spanish minister expressed his concerns on the continuous attacks on the Iraqi military bases of the Global Coalition forces, including Spanish troops, pointing out that a meeting will be held with Iraqi officials to ensure the safety of his compatriots.
On the war on Gaza, the Spanish minister said that his country wants to end the war, protect civilians and find a peaceful solution for the Palestinian issue.
The Spanish Minister arrived in Iraq on Wednesday to hold a series of meetings with Iraqi official, and is scheduled to meet later with Iraqi President Abul latif Rashid and Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani. (end)
