The much-awaited rail-over-bridge (ROB) at Guruvayur will be officially inaugurated on November 14 by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The function will be presided over by Public Works Minister P A Muhammad Riyas.
A total of 22 girders and 5 spans were used for the construction of the ROB, which has a total length of 517.32 metres and a width of 10.15 metres.
As per the BMBC guidelines, a 1.5-meter-long pavement was prepared, according to the officials. According to the officials, the old road will be converted into a four-meter-wide service road, and MLA funds will be used to establish an open gym beneath the overpass.
PWD Minister P A Muhammad Riyas announced that the completed Guruvayoor railway flyover under the 'Kerala without level crossings' project envisioned by the LDF government for New Kerala will be opened tomorrow. The LDF government has decided to build more than 100 railway flyovers in the state under the Keralam project, which has no level crossings.

The prosecution argued that the accused should be given the death penalty.
