Turkish, Russian Presidents Discuss Developments In Gaza

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday spoke over the phone with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and discussed the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in the region.

According to Turkish Communications Directorate's post on X, Erdogan, told Putin that the brutality directed toward Palestinian lands is deepening and civilian casualties are increasing every minute.

The Turkish president said that the silence of the Western countries also escalated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to an unavertable level.

He underlined that Turkiye will continue to make every effort to ensure peace in the region.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said in a statement that during the telephone conversation, deep concern was expressed over the growing number of civilian casualties and the catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and it was underscored that striking residential areas, religious and social facilities was unacceptable.

According to the statement the two presidents reviewed the active efforts undertaken by Russia at the UN Security Council, as well as the corresponding political and diplomatic steps taken by Turkiye to stop the bloodshed and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
