Mexican Cultural Week Concludes In Doha

Doha, Qatar: The Mexican Cultural Week, hosted by the Ministry of Culture in coordination with the Embassy of Mexico in Doha, came to an end yesterday.
The week-long event aimed at introducing Mexican arts, culture and heritage, and featured folkloric performances, traditional culinary arts, visual arts, and sculpture along with experiencing Mexican cuisine presented by three of the best Mexican chefs in Doha.
Held at Bait Al Hikma (House of Wisdom) Hall at the Ministry of Culture, the closing ceremony included a poetry reading of Qatari and Mexican poems such as an Arabic poem by Qatari poet Abdul Hameed Al Youssef in which he highlighted the cultural richness of Mexico, in addition to Spanish poems.
Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi stated that the cultural relations have become an important part of cultural diplomacy and popular diplomacy to introduce the other, build bridges of dialogue and understanding, and nourish societies with the diversity of culture, adding that there are more than 150 nationalities in the State of Qatar that present their local and national culture and contribute to promoting the transfer of culture and the movement of artists between the countries of the world with the aim of strengthening relations between states and peoples.
