Ukraine's General Staff Reports 26 Combat Clashes On Front Line On Aug 1


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's defense forces are continuing an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk sectors, with 26 combat clashes recorded across the front line on Tuesday, August 1.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a facebook post , Ukrinform reports.

In total, throughout the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out nine strikes on Russian troops, including seven strikes on personnel and equipment concentration areas, one strike on a command post, and one more strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.

For their part, units of the Ukrainian rocket and artillery forces hit ten artillery pieces, four electronic warfare stations, four command posts, an area of concentration of weapons and military equipment, five air defense systems, three personnel concentration areas and two more important enemy targets.

Today, the Russian army carried out one missile strike, 49 air strikes and 33 attacks using MLRS on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas. Civilian casualties were reported.

The General Staff said the probability of Russia carrying out missile and air strikes on targets across Ukraine remains high.

On the Volyn and Polissia axis, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axis, Russian troops shelled more than 20 settlements with mortars and artillery, including Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region, Atynske, Basivka and Rozhkovychi in the Sumy region, as well as Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Petropavlivka and Nesterne in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupiansk axis, the settlements of Topoli, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and Kyslivka of the Kharkiv region all came under artillery and mortar fire from the Russians.

On the Lyman axis, the invaders fired artillery at Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to recapture the positions they lost north and west of Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. More than ten settlements came under enemy artillery shelling, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske and Bila Hora in the Donetsk region.

On the Avdiivka axis, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near Avdiivka under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery. More than ten settlements, including Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka and Novobakhmutivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery.

On the Marinka axis, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops outside the city of Marinka. The invaders carried out an airstrike in the Krasnohorivka area, shelling more than ten settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda and Hostre of the Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarske axis, the Russian army attacked the areas of Blahodatne and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. The enemy also made unsuccessful attempts to take back the positions they lost east of Staromaiorske, with artillery attacking more than ten settlements, including Vuhledar, Vodiane, Blahodatne, and Zolota Nyva of the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia axis, Russian troops are concentrating their main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian defense forces. More than 15 settlements, including Novodarivka, Bilohiria, Orikhiv and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, came under artillery fire from the Russians.

The invaders carried out an airstrike near Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Kherson axis, Russian artillery attacked more than ten settlements, including Kherson, Sadove, Tokarivka, Antonivka and Mykhailivka.
